A multimillion-dollar plan to see the construction of more than a dozen serviced apartments in the Dubbo CBD has been revealed.
Darron Dental submitted a $2.5 million development application for 14 apartments at a vacant lot at 10 Victoria St to Dubbo Regional Council this month, forecasting the construction of the short-term holiday letting hub neighbouring the Macquarie River.
A planner for the project said the development would include serviced apartments across two buildings with units ranging from one- to three-bedrooms.
“The proposed development (will) provide for additional tourist accommodation, specifically, serviced apartments, located in an accessible area dominated by tourist and visitor accommodation,” the planner argued.

“The proposed development (will) secure steady employment opportunities and make a positive economic contribution to the locality.”
The planner argued the proposal would “enhance the tourism and leisure zone” and would not result in any “adverse impacts” to the CBD.
“The proposed development is considered to be in the public interest as it provides for a medium density housing development on a centrally located site,” the planner said.
