An 18-year-old Central West man who allegedly drove a stolen car towards a police vehicle causing an officer to take “evasive action” has been hit with a string of driving charges. Here’s the latest.

An 18-year-old man, who allegedly drove a stolen car towards a police vehicle to cause a collision, has been charged with a string of driving offences in the state’s central west.
About 4.40pm on Saturday, Orana Mid-Western Police District officers were conducting inquiries in relation to a reportedly stolen Toyota Land Cruiser from Cober, when the vehicle has allegedly driven towards a stationary police vehicle parked on the Oxley Hwy, near Collie.
The officer took evasive action to avoid a collision, sliding down a nearby embarkment.
A second police vehicle attempted to stop the Toyota, however a pursuit was initiated.
The Toyota continued through to Armatree St, Armatree, where it entered a rail corridor and came to a stop.
Tyler Evans allegedly fled on foot over a fence and into a paddock.
Following the foot pursuit, the 18-year-old man was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with not stopping during a police pursuit, driving during a disqualification period and driving a stolen vehicle.
He was also charged with possessing ammunition without a licence, driving more than 45km/h over the speed limit and predatory driving.
The 18-year-old man has made no application for bail.
He has been formally refused bail before Dubbo Local Court and is expected to appear on December 4.
