Tray Elwood, Kerrod Edwards front Dubbo Local Court after alleged attacks on women

Two men have been refused bail after one of them allegedly punched a woman in the face and stole her car while the other one allegedly assaulted a woman.

A woman was allegedly punched in the face while another woman was also allegedly assaulted by two men who, according to police, have been on the run in the state’s central west.

Orana Mid-Western Police District officers commenced an investigation following reports a man allegedly punched a woman in the face at a home in Dubbo on September 16.

Police were also investigating reports the man allegedly took the woman’s car, keys and phone on September 4.

Following inquiries, Tray Elwood, 23, was arrested inside a home on Myall St, Dubbo, about 12.30am on Friday.

While at the home, police also arrested Moree man Kerrod Edwards, 32, who was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant related to an alleged assault of a woman and the damage of her car tyres on August 14.

The men were taken to Dubbo Police Station.

Elwood was charged with stalk and intimidation, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to domestic violence, stealing a motor vehicle and stealing from a person.

The older man was charged with being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, destroying or damaging property in relation to domestic violence and stalk and intimidation.

Edwards defended his charges before Dubbo Local Court on Friday, while Elwood is yet to enter a plea.

Elwood’s matter will return to court on October 10, while Edward’s case will be moved to Moree Local Court on September 30.
