Titan Gilkes, 22: Fresh charge laid for accused Paul Jaques murderer, Wellington

A 22-year-old man charged with the murder of Central West man has been hit with an additional charge, a court has heard.
Titan Gilkes, of Wellington, was excused from Dubbo Local Court on Thursday, where he was hit with a fresh possessing an unauthorised firearm charge, months after he was charged with the murder of Paul Jacques.
Mark Charles Stanley, 21, has also been charged with murder of the 67-year-old man.
Police claim the young men murdered Mr Jacques, after locating him with a gunshot wound.
The pair have also been charged with an assault with intention of robbery while obtaining a dangerous weapon.
The alleged offenders have not yet entered a plea.
About 3.30am in August 2021, emergency services were called to a home on Gisborne St, Wellington, following reports of a shooting.
Orana Mid-Western District police found Mr Jacques with a gunshot wound to his leg.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital in a serious condition, where he died a short time later.
Strike Force Clavert was established to commence inquiries into the man’s death.
Strike force detectives charged and arrested Gilkes almost two years later in a correctional facility on June 7, 2023, following the arrest of Stanley, who was also at a correctional centre, on May 29, 2023.
Stanley will return to court on January 18, 2024, and Gilkes will appear on February 8, 2024.
