Tambaroora: Hazardous bush fires sparks emergency warning

Firefighters are battling an out of control blaze in the state’s central west, with residents being told it is too late to leave their homes.
With hot and dry conditions affecting NSW, firefighters are working to contain over 40 fires. Crews are being supported by aircraft, including large air tankers. NSW Rural Fire Service have called an emergency warning level to an “out of control” rapid fire on Alpha Road near Tambaroora.

A bush fire in the Pyramul Creek area is burning towards Alpha Rd, Hill End Rd and Hill End.

The fire is currently burning 267 hectares in a southerly direction towards Hill End.
NSWRFS has warned residents that it is “too late to leave” and they should “seek shelter as the fire approaches”.
“Go inside and protect yourself from the fire front,” the warning said.
“If you are in the Hill End, Maitland Camp and Sallys Flat areas, be aware of embers.
These embers may be blown ahead of the main fire front and may start new fires.”
Firefighters and aircraft with large aerial tankers are currently working in the area.
