Three women have been charged following a 12-person brawl which injured three senior cops in the state’s central west.
Police were called to Ross St, Coonamble, around 9.25am on Sunday, following reports of a brawl.
Upon arrival, police saw 12 people around two women fighting on the roadway.
Officers broke up the fight and arrested an 18-year-old woman.
A 22-year-old woman was initially given a move-on direction but when she allegedly failed to comply, she was arrested following a brief struggle.
Both women were taken to Coonamble Police Station where the 18-year-old woman was charged with affray, hinder or resist a police officer in execution of duty and failing to comply with direction.
During the arrests, a 23-year-old woman allegedly assaulted a senior constable.
Orana Mid-Western Police District officers commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, the 23-year-old woman was arrested on the same day and taken to Coonamble Police Station.
She as charged with assaulting a police officer without actual bodily harm and two counts of hindering police on duty.
The women were given conditional bail to appear at Coonamble Local Court on July 16.
During the arrests three senior constables received minor injuries.
