Dudley Private Hospital chief executive officer Mandy Rutherford said the company will also be rebranding the private hospital to Ramsay Surgical Centre Orange.

“Ramsay Surgical Centre Orange will become a short-stay hospital for patients undergoing treatments who do not require an overnight stay,” Ms Rutherford said.

She said the site features operating theatres, recovery areas, a central sterile supply department and pre-admission area.

The hospital is expected to be continued to be used for same-day procedures such as ophthalmology, gastroenterology, pain management, dental and urology.

“There is significant expertise in the day surgery unit at our existing Dudley Private Hospital which we will be able to leverage to enhance the service levels at Ramsay Surgical Centre Orange,” she said.

“Any patients requiring overnight stays will be treated at our nearby Dudley Private Hospital and we have ensured we have capacity to do this.

“We are passionate about providing regional and rural residents with access to high quality health care, which is why we have established hospitals and health services in regional areas around Australia.”

Ms Rutherford said there will be job cuts with the recent purchase of the facility.
