Operation Rhino: Three men have been charged

Three men from NSW’s Central West have been charged over three separate incidents relating to alleged traffic, aircraft and trespassing offences – including one case where a laser was allegedly aimed at a plane.

Orana Mid-Western Police District officers established Operation Rhino, targeting property-related crime in the Dubbo area in April and have arrested and charged three men in relation to three separate incidents.

About 6.30pm on Thursday, officers received reports of a motorcyclist riding dangerously in Baird Dr.

Anthony Orcher, 19, was arrested and charged with using an unregistered class A motor vehicle, driving as a never licensed person, and not wearing a helmet.

He was also charged with not stopping during a police pursuit - driving recklessly or furiously.

The teen was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Friday.

A 31-year-old man was then arrested around 10pm on Thursday following reports of a person directing a laser beam at an aircraft a number of times.

Bobby Brown was charged with possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit and interfering with a crew member while in an aircraft.

He appeared at court on Friday, where he was refused bail to appear at the same court on June 14.

In another incident, officers received reports of a man allegedly jumping fences in Elizabeth St.

William Gray, 20, was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with entering enclosed lands without a lawful excuse and breach of bail.

He was given conditional bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Friday.
