Police have charged multiple people with property and traffic-related offences in the state’s western region as part of a statewide operation to reduce youth crime.
Operational Regional Mongoose was established in September to investigate and tackle property-related crime allegedly committed by young offenders.
The Western Region Enforcement Squad were conducting foot patrols when they spoke with a motorcyclist at the intersection of Myall St and John Glenn Pl in Dubbo on October 5.
Checks revealed the 21-year-old man was wanted on three outstanding arrest warrants — he was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station.
The man was charged with outstanding warrants for traffic, property and firearm-related offences where he was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on October 18.
In a separate incident in Tamworth, a 20-year-old woman was arrested on October 5 after police found cannabis and methylamphetamine in her handbag while patrolling the area.
The woman was arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station, where officers conducted a further search locating a credit card not belonging to her.
She was charged with two counts of possessing prohibited drugs and goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen.
The woman was granted conditional bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court on November 6.
A 15-year-old boy has been charged after extensive inquiries following a pursuit and reports of multiple breaks and enters at Orange, Molong, Cowra, Blayney, Lucknow, Bathurst and Kelso between August 31 and September 15.
The boy was arrested in Orange on Thursday before he was taken to Orange Police Station and charged with two counts of aggravated break and entering in company to steal.
He was also charged with driving a conveyance without the owner’s consent, driving a vehicle without being licensed and being carried in a stolen car.
Two outstanding warrants were also conducted for property and traffic-related offences.
The teenager was refused bail to appear at a children’s court today.
The operation has made multiple other arrests in the past weeks with inquiries continuing.
