Fire has destroyed a home in Narromine in the early hours of Monday morning – which is now being investigated by police.
Around 3.10am 16 firefighters from two stations rushed to Jerry Smith St in Narromine to fight the blaze using six appliances.
Fire and Rescue Superintendent Adam Dewberry said when the firefighters arrived at the scene the “house was well alight” causing them initially “pump water from a distance”.
He said the fire was put out by 5.22am, more than two hours after the initial call, severely damaging the home.
The blaze did not affect neighbouring homes.
A woman and three children were at home at the time, however they were not injured.
Orana Mid-Western Police District officers established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact Dubbo Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
