Mount Knowles: 18-year-old man dead after two-vehicle crash at Lue Rd

A 18-year-old man has been killed and 25-year-old man flown to hospital in a serious condition after a horrific two-vehicle crash in the state’s central west. Here’s the latest.

An 18-year-old ute passenger is dead and another man has been flown to hospital in a serious condition after a crash in the state’s central west.

Emergency services were called to Lue Rd, Mount Knowles, following reports of a two-vehicle crash on Monday about 4.20pm.

On arrival, Orana Mid-Western Police District officers found the two utilities had crashed before leaving the road into a nearby paddock. One ute crashed into a creek.

The Mitsubishi Triton passenger, 18, died at the scene.

The 25-year-old driver of the car was flown to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.

The 29-year-old driver of the silver Ford Falcon ute was arrested and taken to Mudgee Hospital for mandatory testing.

He was then taken to Mudgee police station but has been released pending further investigation.

No charges have been laid.

A crime scene has been established, and investigations are under way into the circumstances of the crash.
