Man charged after fatal road train, ute, 4WD crash at Barrier Highway at Canbelego
A man has been charged with three offences following a fatal crash on the Barrier Highway involving two vehicles and a road train that left one man dead on Tuesday.

A man has been charged following a multi-vehicle crash on a major highway near Cobar which killed one man and left a woman injured on Tuesday.
At about 8.40pm, emergency services were called to the Barrier Highway at Canbelego, following reports a Holden Colorado ute, a Jeep Cherokee and a road train had collided.
Officers from the Central North Police District were told that the 4WD was travelling westbound while the ute and road train were eastbound.
According to police, the incident occurred in the eastbound lanes and as a result of the collision, the road train left the roadway, crashing into a culvert and rolled.
Police later found the driver of the ute had died at the scene. He is believed to be 41 years old and a resident from Broken Hill.
A 33-year-old woman, a passenger in the ute, suffered broken ribs along with a six-year-old child, sitting in the back seat, with both taken to Cobar District Hospital.
The driver of the 4WD, a 60-year-old Chipping Norton man, and the truck driver, a 65-year-old Dubbo man, escaped injury and were taken to Cobar District Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police will allege the 4WD driver refused to be tested and he was subsequently taken to Cobar Police Station after he struggled with police and hospital staff.
He was subsequently charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, drive manner dangerous, negligent driving occasioning death and refusing to submit to taking of a blood sample.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Cobar Local Court on Wednesday, June 29.
