The victim worked and resided at the Silver Oaks Motel in Gilgandra when he “woke up to a noise” coming from the door in early hours of the morning.

“He heard two loud banging noises before the door opened and light came on in the room,” the facts stated.

Darcy and his friend stole under $60,000 worth of goods from the victim.

Around 6.30pm the same day, the victim recounted the events of the morning to Gilgandra police.

Two days later, the victim returned to Gilgandra Police Station and made a statement in relation to the previous events.

After completing the statement, a police officer drove the victim back to the Silver Oaks Motel in the afternoon.

According to the facts, the victim was eating food in his room when he “heard a knock on the door”.
