A man who led police on a wild pursuit while having drugs and a weapon in the car has faced court in the state’s west earlier today.
Jack David Neville, 25, appeared in Dubbo Local Court in custody, pleading guilty to driving recklessly during a police pursuit and driving while disqualified.
He also pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing prohibited drugs and custody of a knife in a public place.
About 2am this morning, officers were patrolling east Dubbo when they attended to stop a Nissan X-trail on Buninyong Rd, Dubbo.
When the offender failed to stop the car as directed, a pursuit was initiated, continuing through Dubbo and towards Gilgandra on the Newell Hwy.
After police successfully deploying spikes, the vehicle came to a stop on Breelong-Balladoran Rd, Gilgandra, police will allege the man fled into nearby bushland.
Orana Mid-Western Police District officers searched the man and allegedly found a quantity of cannabis, methylamphetamine and a knife.
Magistrate Aaron Tang has refused his bail.
The offender will attend the same court via audiovisual link on September 8 for sentence.
