A police sergeant was able to call for assistance before losing consciousness on a remote western NSW road after he was bashed by an unknown man in a frightening pre-dawn attack.
Police said the officer approached a vehicle stopped on North Minore Rd, Minore – an unmarked road about 19km west of Dubbo – about 4.30am on Saturday.
