A new $2.7 million two-storey mining and civil operations building has been proposed to the Mid-Western Regional Council.
Commissioned by CIA Capital Investments, the purpose of the facility is to construct a premises for vehicle sales or hire along with a workshop and office.
“The facility will provide reliable heavy equipment rental fleets and high quality assessment management services to mining and civil operations throughout Australia,” the developer said.
“Equipment and vehicles will be displayed in the hardstand gravel area in the eastern portion of the [proposed] site.
“While the workshop will be used for the ancillary maintenance and repair of vehicles which are leased from the premises.”
According to the developer, the site will specifically include the sale or hire of motor vehicles, caravans, boats, trailers and agricultural machinery.
If approved the site will include 12 parking spaces, primarily for staff due to the nature of the business to customer interaction.
“Business will be predominantly derived from existing contracts with major mining and civil contractors,” the developer said.
“Contractors generally order vehicles and equipment via email or phone. Accordingly, visitation of the premises by the public is expected to be negligible.”
The location of the proposed business is opposite Mudgee Recycling on the northern side of Hill End Road, which connects to the Castlereagh Highway and approximately five kilometres from the town centre.
The DA is available for public viewing until Thursday, October 13.
