From Dubbo to Dunedoo: Three teens allegedly involved in joyride, break and enters, multiple pursuits

Three Central West youths have been charged after allegedly stealing a car for a joyride from Dubbo to Dunedoo. Here’s the latest.

Three Central West teens have been charged following an alleged carjacking, break-ins and multiple pursuits overnight.

Police will allege a 16 and 17-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy stole an unattended Holden Caprice parked on Macquarie St in Dubbo.

Orana Mid-Western Police District officers attempted to stop the vehicle around 10.20pm before a pursuit was initiated before being terminated due to safety concerns.
A 1.30am, a shop in Elong Elong, 51km northeast of Dubbo, was broken into with cash, confectionery and phone chargers stolen.

The teenagers allegedly broke into a supermarket in Dunedoo, 91km northeast of Dubbo, and allegedly stole cigarettes, cash and a speaker.

Police patrolling the area sighted the stolen car on Golden Hwy and followed it until the Holden stopped outside a home on Twickenham Dr in Dubbo about 4am.

The teens allegedly fled and following a foot pursuit, they were arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station.

The vehicle was seized and will undergo forensic examination.

The boy was charged with two counts of break and enters, driving recklessly during a police pursuit, stealing a motor vehicle and driving it without consent.

He was refused bail to appear at a children’s court on Wednesday.

Both girls were charged with being carried in a vehicle without consent of the owner.

The girls were given conditional bail to appear at children's court.

The 17-year-old will appear July 17 and the 16-year-old will appear September 18.
