After putting out a call for nominations for Dubbo’s best hairdresser of 2020 and counting the votes, the winners can be revealed.
The Dubbo News readers voted for their favourite hairdressers in town and there were three local hair extraordinaires who jointly attracted the most number of votes.
MOLLY JOB
Vivacious Molly Job started cutting hair 12 years ago and became owner of Superior Style at Dubbo RSL Club two years ago.
Renowned for her popular Friday dress-up days, Molly’s infectious laughter and superior styling skills have seen her business boom.
“Each Friday I dress up in theme … often a bad taste inspired outfit or something incredibly outrageous,” she said.
“Friday has become my most sought after appointment day as it brings a smile to clients faces. Life’s too short to be serious so I encourage fun and happiness.
“I’m so blessed to have so many beautiful clients and super grateful so many took the time to vote for me.”
MIKAELA IRVINE
MJays Hair owner Mikaela Irvine’s garage was transformed into her own salon a few years ago and it’s become one of the most popular destinations for hair care in Dubbo.
“I’m passionate, I love my job and my clients … it’s a very fun environment to be in,” she said.
“I love being in a small knit community with so many amazing stylists. We are all passionate about making our clients feel good and look great.”
A humble Mikaela said she was shocked to be named one of Dubbo’s best hairdressers.
“There are a lot of hairdressers in Dubbo deserving of this,” she said.
LYNDALL COHEN
Hair Empire’s Lyndall Cohen still has the same passion for hairdressing that she had when she styled her first head of hair 13 years ago.
“I feel I connect and really listen to my clients, I call them friends,” she said.
“I think every hairdresser has a uniqueness about them which attracts clients. I believe I have a positive and bubbly personality and get along easily with all new and existing clients.”
On being crowned one of Dubbo’s best hairdressers, Lyndall credited her ‘friends’ for her success.
“It is amazing. I appreciate every single one of them.”
