Dubbo: Two men charged over break in, destroying property offences

Two men have been charged following a string of break in and property damage offences in the state’s central west. Here’s the latest, including another arrest over a separate alleged incident.

Two men have been charged following an investigation into property offences in the state’s central west.

Police allege the two men forced entry into a home on Warren Rd, Dubbo, about 4pm on Saturday, damaging property and trespassing at a neighbouring house.

They allegedly attempted to enter another home on the same road around 7pm, before the pair were disturbed by the occupant and ran off towards the Macquarie River.

Orana Mid-Western Police District officers attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incidents.

Following inquiries, about 1-pm the same day, police arrested two men – aged 45 – on Dandaloo St, Narromine, where they were taken to Dubbo Police Station.

One man was charged with three counts of entering a building with an intent to commit an indictable offence, two counts of larceny, break and enter to destroy property and break and enter a dwelling with intent.

The other man was charged with three counts of entering a building with an intent to commit an indictable offence, larceny, break and enter to destroy property and break and enter a dwelling with intent.

Both men were refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Sunday, where they were given conditional bail to appear at Narromine Local Court on April 4.

Meanwhile, another man has been charged following a separate alleged property offence in Dubbo on Sunday.

Police allege that two men were walking towards a property on Palmer St, Dubbo, about 2.30am on Sunday when the occupant disturbed the pair before they fled on foot.

About 11pm that evening, occupants at a home on Darling St, Dubbo, were woken up by their alarm and found a mobile phone and cash allegedly stolen.

Orana Mid-Western Police District attended and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incidents.

Police executed a search warrant at a home on Tink Ave, Dubbo and arrested a 32-year-old man.

He was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with aggravated enter a dwelling with intent of knowing people there, entering a building with intent to commit an indictable offence and entering enclosed land without a lawful excused.

The man was refused bail and appeared at Dubbo Local Court on Tuesday, where he was refused bail to reappear at the same court on May 2.
