A plan to support regional tourism with an influx of cabin-style and pet-friendly accommodation options has been revealed as part of a multimillion-dollar vision.
Champ Fixed Unit Investment company representative Garry Singh has lodged a $11.7 million plan to Dubbo Regional Council to construct 58 self-contained cabins, a swimming pool and a dog park on 29R Wellington Rd, Dubbo.
The new development could include 58 one, two and three bedroom self-contained cabins for short term tourism accommodation, while the existing dwelling would be converted to the reception area and manager’s residence.
The proposed tourist and visitor accommodation is located on the outskirts of Dubbo, approximately 7.2km southeast of Dubbo’s CBD.
The planer said the future tourist hub will be staffed between 8am and 7.30pm every day.
“The anticipated client base is families and groups who require large, self-contained sites,” the planner said.
“Packaged continental breakfast supplies and some prepared food items such as milk and bread will be available to guests, but no restaurant or meal preparation will be provided. Several BBQ facilities will be located around the park for guest use.”
Vending machines would also be provided on the site.
The application is on public exhibition until October 19.
