A 59-year-old Dubbo man accused of using carriage services to access, solicit and transmit child abuse material has been denied bail in court.
Australian Federal Police officers raided David Wayne Smith’s home on Wednesday afternoon.
Numerous electronic devices were seized in the raid.
AFP officers arrested Mr Smith after they received a tip-off from South Australia Police investigating the alleged sharing of child abuse material online.
Police have charged Mr Smith with one count of possessing child abuse material obtained or accessed through a carriage service, one count of using a carriage service to access child abuse material, one count of using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material and one count of using a carriage service to transmit, make available, distribute, advertise or promote child abuse material.
He entered no pleas when he appeared in court on Thursday.
Magistrate Gary Wilson refused Mr Smith’s application for bail.
The case returns to court on November 12.
