Cowra: Homes under threat, watch and act order for growing bushfires
Residents in the state’s central west are being warned of a growing bushfire threat, as Rural Fire Service volunteers battle flames near several homes.

Residents are being warned of a rapid fire spreading 20km west of Cowra, near Conimbla Rd.
The fire is estimated to be 40ha on a combination of bushland and grass areas.
A NSW Rural Fire Service spokeswoman said, “a number of homes are in the area” and advised residents to follow their bush survival plans and monitor conditions.

“Firefighters will work to control the fire and take opportunity of the favourable weather conditions this afternoon and later this evening,” the spokeswoman said.
Waterbombing aircraft are reported to be on the scene.
“Our priority is to control the fire at the moment, once the fire is under control then we will do an assessment of any impact to livestock,” she said.
