The 41-year-old’s lawyer entered pleas of not guilty to all charges in Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday.

Sgt Jones did not appear in court.

According to court documents, Sgt Jones caused a woman to fear physical or mental harm on three occasions.

In November 2020 Sgt Jones is alleged to have accessed restricted data held in the NSW Police Computerised Operational Policing System (COPS) that he was not authorised to access.

He was charged in November and his case was mentioned in court for the first time on Wednesday.

After accepting the pleas of not guilty, Magistrate Gary Wilson adjourned the case to February 17.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said Sgt Jones’ “employment status remains under review”.
