The figures were independently complied from the Federal Government’s MySchool website.
Kinross Wolaroi School takes a “holistic” approach with their NAPLAN results as they are “always looking to improve student outcomes” that is not necessarily driven by NAPLAN results.
Principal Andrew Parry referred to “targeted teaching and learning” techniques to each student with a combination of support provides a “rigorous and positive learning culture”.
“If students are performing well and achieving sound results in the classroom, we know they will perform well in NAPLAN,” Dr Parry said.
Dr Parry said the school’s values of courage, respect, inclusiveness, resilience, commitment are actively at school with both “relationships and learning”.
“Applying these values enhances students’ confidence in their capacity to learn, as well as their resilience when they face an academic challenge,” he said.
“The school‘s wellbeing curriculum proactively develops the skills and mindsets that support students to be resilient, persevere, make good choices and relate well to others.”
Central West Leadership Academy’s academic coordinator Andrew Diessel said “the academy is proud of it’s achievements, not just our results in NAPLAN.”
“We have some of the best students in the world in our school and we encourage personal best for every child,” Mr Diessel said.
He said the academy recognises individual needs with a focus on a “21 century” approach.
“The academy employs a data driven approach to teaching and learning, identifying individual student needs and working with parents and teachers to plan for improvement,” he said.
“Each teacher works to identify students’ next steps to enable all students to continually grow.”
