A man has died after being hit by a truck at a worksite on a major highway in the state’s north on Tuesday.
Police and emergency services were called to the Kamilaroi Hwy, near Burren Junction, 60km south of Walgett, at 1.30pm on Tuesday, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a truck.
Central North police arrived with paramedics, however the 40-year-old man died at the scene.
The driver, a 22-year-old man, was taken to Walgett District Hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene was established and SafeWork NSW have been notified.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
