Burger Joint Lounge application lodged for Dubbo

A new burger joint is slated for Dubbo, with a $300,000 proposal pitched to Dubbo Regional Council last month.

Burger Club Lounge is seeking approval for the construction of a new eatery on 84 Macquarie St, Dubbo, located next to Priceline.

The $300,000 reconstruction of the former retail facility, which is currently vacant, will include internal alterations, including the installation of a food service bar and preparation station to accommodate restaurant requirements.

Plans state the development would provide “economic growth” and further employment opportunities on the street.

“The development would provide additional local employment and services during construction and provide hub for commercial services,” the planner said.

“The development is not considered likely to give rise to any negative social impacts.”

According to the developer, the restaurant will be operating from 11am to 9pm, seven days a week.

There would be no additional parking spaces provided as there is on-street parking and public transport access near the proposed building.

“The surrounding area is characterised by a mix of different development types, including commercial premises, banks, business premises and retail shops,” the application states.

“The proposed development is in the public interest … the change of use would provide ongoing employment benefits for the Dubbo community.”

The planner said the proposed development would “provide high quality open spaces to meet the recreational needs of residents and visitors” to Dubbo by encouraging investment in local growth.
