A 16-year-old girl has died and another child has been critically injured following a two car crash in the state’s central west.

A 16-year-old girl has died, and another child is in critical conditional following a two car crash in the state’s central west.
Emergency services were called to Dunedoo Rd, near Ballimore Rd, Ballimore, about 30km northeast of Dubbo, following reports of a collision just before 6pm on February 15.
New England Police District officers located an SUV and a semi-trailer having collided head-on.
The 16-year-old front seat passenger died at the scene.
The rear passenger — a 10-year-old girl — was flown to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the semi-trailer was taken to Dubbo Hospital in a stable condition.
A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has commenced.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
