A 32-year-old Dubbo woman who became enraged after her friend accused her of sleeping with a married man has been spared convictions for property damage and intimidation.
According to court documents, Apollina Dean was called a ‘w***e’ by her friend and accused of having a relationship with the friend’s husband earlier this year.
After Ms Dean had been out drinking she travelled to her friend’s home to discuss the claims made.
When the friend refused to come out of her home and hid in a rear bedroom, Ms Dean kicked and punched the front door.
The door broke and when police were called to speak with Ms Dean, she appeared to express no remorse.
“Yeah I kicked it in, the bitch accused me of sleeping with her husband,” Ms Dean told police.
“I went around there to sort it out and she wouldn’t answer the door so I bashed it in.
“I’ll go around there tomorrow and do more than bash in her door, f*** bitch I’ll door more than damage her door.”
Police charged Ms Dean with property damage and intimidation offences which she pleaded guilty to in Dubbo Local Court.
Defence lawyer Joy Kirby told the court Ms Client became aggressive after a picture message was sent to her which showed her with the friend’s husband.
The court heard Ms Dean was not a big drinker, but she was intoxicated when she kicked the door in and had never been in trouble with the law before.
Magistrate Philip Stewart recorded no convictions and placed Ms Dean on a conditional release order for 12 months.
“It appears to be a one-off matter where alcohol well and truly played a part,” he said.
