TAKING care of orphaned animals during cold winter months is tough, but there’s a role you can play in making the load easier this DoSomething Day.

Revesby Workers Club has partnered with the RSPCA to help them provide for the 35,000 animals in their care. These animals have been injured, neglected, sick, surrendered, lost or abandoned.

The club is accepting donations over the month of July in the spirit of Do Something Day.

An initiative of DoSomething Foundation, NewsLocal and Your Local Club, DoSomething Day on July 25 seeks to celebrate our volunteers and highlight those who are giving back by spreading kindness in their community.

A series of blue collection bins have been placed in the club’s foyer, and donations of food, toys, blankets and bedding can all be made.

Odds are when we feel cold, our furry friends do too. Keeping them warm during winter puts a strain the RSPCA’s resources.

Donations of new blankets and bedding will go a long way in ensuring beloved pets cope with the cold this winter.

“The DoSomething Day campaign aims to drive the community to participate in actions of good by donating or volunteering,” Edward Camilleri, chief executive of Revesby Workers Club, said.

“We hope that everyone gets involved ... through acts of kindness.”

Revesby Workers Club will be accepting donations until July 29.
