THE Central Coast’s most vulnerable and needy people will be well rugged up this winter if the staff and members of Gosford RSL have anything to do about it.
The registered club got involved in DoSomething Day last year to support Coast Shelter.
“We did it last year and it was such a success we’re doing it again,” Gosford RSL marketing manager Jacquie Miller said.
“We got over 400 items donated.”
Ms Miller said she heard about DoSomething Day and decided to support Coast Shelter after seeing a post on the charity’s Facebook page asking for socks, beanies and scarfs.
This year the RSL club is encouraging staff and visitors to club to bring in beanies, scarfs and gloves this year.
“Last year there was a shortage of socks apparently,” Ms Miller said.
“This year Coast Shelter needs gloves, beanies and scarfs”
Gosford RSL staff members Georgia Ryan, Kate Vane-Tempest, Kim Golsby, Nola Ryan and Emma Benson have already embraced this year’s drive bringing in their winter woollies.
Ms Miller said the staff and the club’s members have embraced the initiative.
