Without their weekly entertainment from sport, fans, athletes and commentators are now looking for something else to cheer about during the coronavirus crisis.
Taking nothing away from the seriousness of the situation, it is clear sometimes laughter is the best medicine.
Videos and jokes are now flooding social media as people look for a chuckle to brighten their lives during dark times.
And sport is kicking goals in this department with numerous funnies.
One of the first to merge was one from rugby about their backs.
Another came from netball about their umpires.
Sailors have also contributed with a special way to make one of the rarest finds in Sydney - toilet paper - that little bit more special.
And most recently commentators and callers have taken to social media to use their skills in a more ordinary way.
Most people in isolation will be able to relate to this.
