Get up close to Taronga Zoo’s cheeky squirrel monkeys and watch them climb and play as you walk through an Amazon-style jungle.

The new jungle exhibit allows visitors to observe the inquisitive nature of the squirrel monkeys up close.

“The new space has climbing towers, swinging ropes, flowing water and mature trees for our squirrel monkey family,” Taronga Zoo chief executive Cameron Kerr said.

“Guests will walk along a boardwalk through the exhibit where they get a chance to see the monkeys like never before.”

Taronga Zoo primate keeper Renae Robinson said the squirrel monkeys, one of the smallest members of the primate group, are social creatures.

“There is so much activity and their play is fascinating to watch,” she said.

“They are super speedy and love to chase each other.

“With baby squirrel monkeys only recently being born it is an exciting time.”

“The whole troop is involved during playtime.” Robinson said: “They will leave no stone unturned as they engage with all levels of their exhibit, which can also be seen from above when visitors take a ride in the Sky Safari”.

We are giving away 100 family passes to Taronga Zoo (valid for two adults and two children). To enter go to follow the prompts below. This competition closes 5pm February 13; winners drawn February 14 and will be published on the NewsLocal.com.au competition page February 15. Authorised under permit number LTPM-17-01384
