Seven hidden spaces were brought to life with music, art, food and pop-up bars in Parramatta last year.
Now, the Parramatta Lanes project is set to become a permanent fixture on the local events calendar.
The project was set up for four days last October and featured site specific installations in the different locations.
It won the Public Art and Placemaking Award at the Local Government and Culture Awards last month.
It was one of 23 local arts and culture initiatives honoured at the event at NSW Parliament House on Tuesday, May 27.
Parramatta Lord Mayor John Chedid said the event had gained a reputation as a premier event in Western Sydney.
“We want people to see a new side of Parramatta,” Cr Chedid said.
“Parramatta Lanes is an engaging experience for the people of Western Sydney.
“You can experience the tastes, aromas and visual delights as you wander the back lanes of the city.”
Parramatta Lanes project will return to the city on October 2, 3, 9 and 10 this year.
