IN HER latest big screen offering, the hilarious Melissa McCarthy channels her inner “cool mum” to attend college with her daughter.

The comedy actor co-writes and stars in the Life of the Party.

It is rated M and is now showing at Event Cinemas Campbelltown.

The movie follows long-time housewife Deanna’s decision to go back to school after her husband suddenly dumps her.

Deanna throws herself into the campus experience and ends up in some of the same classes as her daughter.

Though, understandably, her daughter is not entirely sold on the idea.

Life of the Party is the third collaboration between McCarthy and her husband, Ben Falcone, who first directed her in the 2014 comedy Tammy.

McCarthy also has nothing but praise for Aussie actor Jacki Weaver, who plays her on-screen mum Sandy.
