INXS may have retired but Glen Campbell is making sure the legend lives on.
Campbell is director and lead singer of the INXS tribute band Original Sin, which has been touring for the past six years giving fans the INXS experience.
“Michael Hutchence was a huge influence to me,” Campbell said.
“He inspired me to sing and perform.
“INXS were an integral part of me wanting to become a musician.”
It is his love of the music that has given the tribute band staying power and Campbell is proud that he has become the man to call for INXS tribute shows.
“After the miniseries a few other tribute bands reared their heads.
“I pride myself on being the first one called.”
Before taking on his role in the tribute band, Campbell was a drummer and worked in a number of cover bands.
He has clear views about staging tribute shows.
“The tribute show needs to play the songs as close to the original artist as possible and production and clothing are also part of it,” Campbell said.
“We also have to play the songs that INXS fans expect.
“And we love doing it.”
Among the set list are hits such as Never Tear Us Apart, Don’t Change, What You Need and Kiss The Dirt.
