JARROD Lawrence’s life became a little bit more easier on Friday when the 19-year-old from Liverpool received a rejuvenated Toyota Sera from Castle Hill-based Body Tech Automotive.
Since his mother recently passed away, Jarrod has taken on full responsibility of his brothers Blake, 16, and Dylan 14, and works part-time at Disabilities South West to support himself and his brothers.
Jarrod had been trying to save up for a car and was blown away by Body Tech Automotive’s generosity.
“I’m very grateful. It means a lot,” Jarrod said.
“We will be able to get around easier.”
Body Tech Automotive owner Peter Christodoulou found out about Jarrod after his wife Joanne said she heard about Jared talking about his background on KiiS 106.5FM.
Despite spending $45,000 on the car to get it in great condition, Mr Christodolou said it was an easy decision.
“We like to look after people as much as we can,” Mr Christodoulou said.
His wife, Joanne, was touched by Jarrod’s story when he was on the Kyle and Jackie O show last Wednesday.
“I felt really sad for him and wanted to do something to help,” she said.
“I rang Peter to ask if we can give him a car and then I spoke to the producers at KiiS to get Jarrod’s details.”
