There’s another important decision to make aside from what boxes to tick on the ballot paper this election day ... BBQ or tomato sauce? A cupcake or a scone?

One of the best things about heading to the polls is arguably the food to be found at the stalls set up by locals at the booths.

Malabar Public School P & C are baking up a storm and firing up the BBQ for their election day stall on Saturday.

A sausage sizzle, egg and bacon rolls will be on offer, as well as cold drinks, coffee and delicious homemade cakes, from 8am to 4pm at 231 Franklin St, Malabar.

Maroubra Bay Public School is also holding a BBQ, cake stall and garden produce stall from 9:30am to 2:30pm on Duncan Street, Maroubra.

Organiser Rosie Strachan said there’ll be plenty of local fare on offer.

“We’ll be showcasing some of the best bakers in the ‘Bra, along with fresh locally-grown herbs and assorted garden goodies,” she said.
