A Tik Tok famous Sydney frozen yoghurt shop – which sparked a nightly frenzy with lines spilling out the door – has revealed it will open two new locations in Sydney.

Frozen yoghurt lovers are calling Yo-Chi Surry Hills “worth the hype” as they patiently wait in line for their delicious dessert, with the popular chair revealing new venues will be opened in weeks in Newtown and Lane Cove.

The family-owned business kickstarted a new ‘creative’ frozen yoghurt scene in September 2012 with their Melbourne venue.

But lines outside the Surry Hills location dramatically grew after gaining recent Tik Tok popularity.

Yo-Chi Surry Hills opened its doors in September, 2021 and has continued to get busier week by week since first opening, according to a Yo-Chi spokeswoman.

“I go to Yo-Chi frequently and wait in line for about 20 minutes almost every time, it’s so yummy and affordable, definitely worth the line”, eastern suburbs resident, Jessie Cilbulka said.

“It is the best frozen yoghurt I have ever had, I would much rather drive the extra 15

minutes,” another eastern suburbs resident, Paige Muscat, said.

In response to increased line times and major crowds, Yo-Chi has added new queuing systems and staffing to maintain a ‘safe and enjoyable space for everybody’.

“We have added an extra team member to focus on line control and have removed outdoor furniture to accommodate these lines,” the spokeswoman said.

The spokeswoman said the Newtown shopfront would be located at 293 King St, while Yo Chi’s Lane Cove site is yet to be confirmed.
