Ultimo unit robbery: Police investigate Macarthur St home invasion

Police are on the hunt for a man who violently stormed an Ultimo unit, knocked out the resident before escaping with a coin jar. The victim has been left with facial fractures.

Police are on the hunt for a man who violently stormed an Ultimo unit, knocked out the resident before escaping with a coin jar.

A 48-year-old man has told authorities he was at his Macarthur St unit when, between 7pm and 8pm on Tuesday, an intruder forced his way inside.

The resident says the intruder demanded cash before knocking him out. About 18 hours later, he contacted emergency services and was taken to hospital by ambulance about 10.45pm Wednesday.

The victim is being treated for facial fractures at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

An investigation has been launched by Sydney City Police Area Command and a crime scene has been established.

Police believe a coin jar was stolen from the unit.
