Three arrested and charged in Waterloo after police pursuit in stolen BMW

POLICE have charged two men and a woman after a pursuit with a stolen vehicle in Waterloo last week.

POLICE have charged two men and a woman after a pursuit with a stolen vehicle in Waterloo last week.

Officers were patrolling Lachlan St, Waterloo on Friday afternoon when they detected a stolen BMW. The driver failed to pull over and a pursuit was commenced. It ended in Cope St, after the vehicle crashed into a small tree. Two men, aged 24 and 25, and two women aged 26 and 29 were inside the car. They all ran from the vehicle but were arrested a short time later and taken to Redfern Police Station. The 24-year-old man was allegedly driving the car and was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital before being taken back into custody.

He was charged with breach of bail, destroy or damage property (X3), steal from person, aggravated steal from dwelling, among other charges.

The 25-year-old man from Redfern and 29-year-old woman from Marrickville were also charged with a number of offences. They will appear at Central Local Court on Tuesday November 27.
The 26-year-old woman was released without charge.
