Police investigating after four teens, man trade blows on busy Sydney train

Shocking footage of a peak-hour brawl between four teens and a man on a Sydney train has surfaced — with witnesses describing the incident as “chaos”.

South Sydney Police Area Command officers were called following the fight on a Monday afternoon westbound train, with a NSW Police spokeswoman telling NewsLocal officers were investigating following reports of an assault on a train at Redfern Station.

Footage of the incident, obtained by NewsLocal, depicts four teen boys trading blows with a man on the train following an argument.

Witnesses told NewsLocal the incident occurred around 5.45pm on Monday afternoon, with one of the teens telling the man “you just bashed a kid — we’re minors”.

The witness said, “four young lads and a construction worker traded blows” as shocked onlookers scrambled away on the packed afternoon train.

“They were insulting each other back and forth before the verbal confrontation turned violent,” he said.

One of the teens can be heard telling the man “get the f**k off me” before another jumps onto the man’s back.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said officers from South Sydney Police Area Command “have commenced an investigation”.

“As inquiries continue, anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” the spokeswoman said.
