The woman who was tragically killed in a horrific head-on collision on the Sydney Harbour Bridge has been identified as 35-year-old Nicole Green.
Confronting CCTV footage seen by police showed Ms Green’s Mitsubishi travelling in the wrong lane seconds before fatally colliding with a BMW about 7am Thursday.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman at the scene said the crash was so horrific emergency services split into separate rescue teams with individual commanders to work on each vehicle.
A number of tributes have been shared on social media for Ms Green, who lived in the Illawarra region.
Two passengers travelling in Ms Green’s Mitsubishi, both men believed to be aged in their 30s, were treated for head injuries at the scene before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a serious condition.
The driver of the BMW – a woman believed to be aged in her 40s – was trapped for more than two hours before rescue teams could release her. The BMW driver’s passenger also suffered minor injuries and is in a stable condition.
Ms Green was due to stand trial in coming months for allegedly trying to steal a $3000 Louis Vuitton bag from a 62-year-old woman near Wollongong in 2018. She also recently pleaded guilty to helping a man rob a university student’s car after zapping the car owner with a taser in December 2018.
