NAPLAN 2024: Sydney Girls High, Sydney Grammar School crowned inner city’s best performers

Sydney Girls High School and Sydney Grammar School are the inner city’s top performing NAPLAN schools in 2024.
An independent analysis of newly released 2024 NAPLAN results has revealed the schools which performed the best in the year 5 and year 9 tests.
Sydney Grammar School, in Darlinghurst, ranked first for inner-city primary schools, scoring an average of 641.0.
Woollahra Public School was second best in the region with an average score of 594.2, while Balmain Public School was the third best with an average score of 588.0.
The top performing secondary school was Sydney Girls High School, with an average result was 714.0.
Conservatorium High School ranked second best in the region with an average score of 710.4, while Sydney Boys High School came out third with an average score of 704.0.
To determine how each school performed in 2024, the scores for all five test subjects for the student cohort were combined to find the average.
Special schools, institutions with fewer than 20 students enrolled, and schools that did not report any results for NAPLAN subjects were excluded from the analysis.
The figures were independently compiled from the federal government’s MySchool website.
