Man in serious condition after Alexandria stabbing
A man has been charged following a stabbing in Sydney’s inner south this afternoon, that left another man fighting for his life.

A man will face court on Wednesday morning charged with a knife attack that left a street cleaner fighting for his life.
Officers were called to what police have described as a dispute between two City of Sydney street cleaners at a council depot in Alexandria on Tuesday about 2pm.
Police said the man suffered multiple stab wounds to his face and neck in the attack.
He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he is said to be fighting for his life.
Police released a statement shortly before 9pm informing that they had charged a man who was arrested at the scene with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail and will appear in Central Local Court on Wednesday.
Police have said that work colleagues of the victim helped stem the bleeding and may have even saved the man’s life.
The City of Sydney released a statement on Monday afternoon saying staff members were receiving support.
“The City of Sydney is aware of an incident involving two contract workers outside its Alexandra Canal Depot in Alexandria around 2pm today,” it said.
“We are assisting Police with their investigation and have offered support to all staff at the depot.
“Any further inquiries should be directed to NSW Police.”
Several staff members at the depot have been questioned by police.
