The partner of former professional boxer Garth Wood, who once famously knocked out three-time world champion Anthony Mundine, was “sending a clear message” when she scratched “C--T” and “DEADBEAT” into her exes Mercedes.

Holly Lewis’ lawyer Patrick Schmidt told Downing Centre Local Court his client was then allegedly punched to the head five times by her ex-partner, Jon Fenton who has pleaded not guilty to two assault charges.

Lewis had two assault charges of her own withdrawn by the prosecution on Friday, after Magistrate Miranda Moody found it was unlikely the alleged victims, Fenton and his partner Mischa Burrows would “turn up”.

The 36-year-old did; however, plead guilty to domestic violence related intentionally or recklessly damage property.

Agreed facts revealed Lewis and Fenton have had a turbulent relationship since their separation shortly after the birth of their only child more than a decade ago.

It came to a head on June 24 last year when Fenton and Burrows parked the Mercedes at the Sydney Fish Market in Pyrmont before walking into a restaurant.

They noticed Lewis inside and decided to sit further away.

As Burrows went to the bathroom, Lewis approached Fenton and said “Hi Jon”, which he ignored, according to the agreed facts.

She continued to say “what, you can’t say hi Jon” with agreed facts indicating she appeared to be intoxicated.

Lewis left a short time later and using an “unknown implement”, scratched the words “C--T” into the Mercedes’ bonnet and “DEADBEAT” into a side door.

As Fenton and Burrows approached the car, Lewis said “what are you going to do about it?” with Ms Moody telling the court a nasty brawl allegedly occurred.

Lewis was then arrested at her Pyrmont home the following evening and taken to Newtown police station.

Mr Schmidt told the court on Friday his client was acting out of “absolute anger and revenge” and was “sending a clear message”.

He said Lewis was then allegedly punched in the head by Fenton. Ms Burrows is not charged with any wrongdoing.

Mr Schmidt referenced how the very next day, as reported by The Daily Telegraph, Lewis’ partner, former professional boxer and NRL player, Garth Wood viciously attacked Fenton at a park with a court previously hearing he said “that’s what you get for hitting sheilas”.

Wood spent three months behind bars on remand before being sentenced to a 20-month intensive correction order for assault occasioning actual bodily harm in October last year.
