More than 130 events spanning theatre, dance, circus, visual art and music will take place across 51 venues, reaching from Sydney’s CBD to Parramatta, between January 6 to 28.

“Sydney Festival is Australia’s cultural New Year’s resolution, starting the year with experiences that stimulate discussion and reward the curious, adventurous citizen,” festival director Wesley Enoch says.

“It’s like having a family holiday in your own city.”

Enoch has been scouring the globe to bring the best international artists to Sydney, including the world’s first underwater band Between Music.

The Danish musicians will be singing and playing custom-made instruments while submerged in aquariums for their concert Aquasonic at Carriageworks.
