Your Australia Day pictures will help capture Central Coast heart
WITH Australia Day just weeks away, we’re launching a photo campaign to capture the heart and soul of our national day right here on the Central Coast. Here’s how to get involved.
Central Coast
Don't miss out on the headlines from Central Coast. Followed categories will be added to My News.
AUSTRALIA Day, January 26, is the day to reflect on what it means to be Australian, to celebrate contemporary Australia and to acknowledge our history.
On Australia Day we celebrate all the things we love about Australia: land, sense of fair go, lifestyle, democracy, the freedoms we enjoy but particularly our people.
Australia Day is about acknowledging and celebrating the contribution that every Australian makes to our contemporary and dynamic nation.
Three in four Australians believe it has a bigger meaning beyond being just a day off.
More than half of all Australians participate in Australia Day by attending events in their local area and many people become official Australian citizens on that day.
On the Central Coast there will also be many backyard barbecues, picnics, days on the beach or at the pool, fishing trips, or a drink with mates at the pub.
This year we’d love to see how you celebrate our national day. Take a photo of your family and friends on Australia Day and email it to us for the chance to be included in a special photographic feature in The Central Coast Express Advocate print edition and online.
