Wyong: Plans lodged for 16 town houses at Jennings Rd follows 28-room boarding house proposal

A development application (DA) has been lodged to knock down two homes on the usually quiet Jennings Rd to make way for a 16-unit subdivision.
The (DA) is a scaled-down version of an earlier application for a 35-unit residential flat building which was approved in 2016 and remains active.
Under the new plans numbers 12 and 14 Jennings Rd would be demolished and in their place would be five three-storey multi-dwelling buildings housing 16 units over basement parking.
On the ground floor each unit would feature a living room, kitchen, dining room, laundry and powder room.
The first floor would have two bedrooms and a bathroom with a master bedroom, ensuite and walk-in wardrobe on the top floor.
It comes after plans were lodged earlier this year for a 28-room, three storey shop top boarding house a few doors down next two Wyong High School.
Dwellings one to six and eight to 11 would have basement parking for two cars, dwellings 14 to 16 would have a single car garage and dwellings seven, 12 and 13 would have a single outdoor parking space.
Two visitor spaces would also be provided on the site.
The three-storey buildings would have a maximum height of 11.5m, which is permissible under the site’s zoning laws and each townhouse would have its own private courtyard.
It is the second significant DA lodged for Jennings Rd this year after plans were lodged in June for a 28-room boarding house at the end of the street.
That proposal would see an existing dilapidated weatherboard house demolished and a three storey boarding house built on top of a ground floor shop and basement parking for 16 cars.
Jennings Rd is gated off at the boundary with Wyong High School and the boarding house’s DA states the “neighbourhood shop will provide a service to meet the day to day needs of residents in the area, including the adjacent school”.
Both DA’s remain with Central Coast Council for determination.
