Wyong: ING hiring 50 call centre staff ahead of opening

A bank is hiring 50 staff this month ahead of the opening of its new $11 million call centre and office at Wyong. Here’s what you need to know.

Australia has done 'exceptionally well' throughout the COVID pandemic

Want to work as part of a dynamic team in a flexible environment, with weekend loadings and guaranteed parking — this could be the post-Covid opportunity you’ve been looking for.

That is the hope of digital bank ING which is hiring 50 staff ahead of the opening of its new $11 million contact centre at north Wyong.

The new jobs have a start date of February 21 and coincide with the opening of the bank’s purpose-built facility off the Pacific Highway, opposite Wyong Golf Club.

ING chief executive officer Melanie Evans said the new contact centre was designed with the health and wellness of the bank’s staff in mind and to make it easy for teams to work collaboratively.

The opening of the 4,800sq m site comes after the bank outgrew its Tuggerah call centre and can cater up to 600 jobs.

“For more than 20 years the Central Coast’s caring, smart, dedicated and down to earth people have helped make ING the brand it is today and Australia’s most recommended bank,” Ms Evans said.

“We are a digital bank, but our customer service sets us apart from others and our Central Coast team proudly delivers that service.

“For us, building the bank of the future is about doing things differently in order to make lives better for customers, team members and the communities we are part of.”

Ms Evans said ING would provide a “diverse, inclusive and supportive workplace” where team members could grow careers, work flexibly around life and family commitments and play an important role in helping ING build the “bank of the future”.

“Innovation and service thrive in an environment where team members feel inspired and supported,” Ms Evans said.

“This is what we’ve strived for with our new Wyong hub.

ING was granted approval to build it’s new call centre in 2019 with construction starting in 2020.

In a statement ING said the location was chosen because of its transport links and was close to shops, gyms and childcare facilities.

There is also an onsite cafe and free parking for all employees.

According to the job description, the new rolls are full time positions working across a seven-day rotating roster from early, mid and late shifts.

ING is looking for applicants with a minimum of six months of experience with 20 per cent penalty rates available for shifts finishing after 8pm and time and a half for weekends.
