A Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang member and two associates have been charged over drug, firearms and weapon offences following raids on the Central Coast.

Strike Force Raptor North searched homes on Pirama and Gorokan Rd, at Wyee on Wednesday and uncovered firearms, weapons, ammunition, cannabis, methylamphetamine and MDMA.

Comanchero member, Frederick Lewis, 47, fronted Toronto Local Court on Thursday where he pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis, methylamphetamine and MDMA but didn’t enter a plea to possession of cannabis oil and the supply of methylamphetamine.

Lewis’ solicitor Chris O’Brien made a bail application, telling the court his client had a number health issues and would stay with his mother on a 24-hour curfew if granted.

“Mr Lewis has been hospitalised with a lung condition, he has a heart condition which he is medicated for, and a blood infection as well as a back condition, which is a big reason for consuming cannabis oil and ice,” Mr O’Brien said.

“He has been trying his best to find medications other than cannabis oil. My client is not a well person.”

Police say in court papers at the raid on Pirama Rd, where Lewis resided, numerous drugs were found in the kitchen and lounge room.

Police facts allege that cannabis oil was located in the fridge, more than 5 grams of cannabis head in a plastic bag in the lounge room as well as .99 grams of ice, which Lewis indicated was all for personal use and relief for back and leg pain.

A beige powder believed to be MDMA (methylamphetamine) was also discovered in the lounge room but Lewis had told police it was from a female friend who had left it there.

A small ‘lock box’, which Lewis denied knowing was inside, was opened by police which allegedly contained 12.93 grams of ice. He said it belonged to his estranged wife and did not have access.

Magistrate Ron Maiden refused bail and held the matter over until January 22, where he has other matters listed for hearing.

John Hamilton Fitzgerald, 48, who police allege is a Comanchero associate, pleaded guilty to seven charges of cultivating and possessing cannabis and firearm offences at Toronto Local Court on Thursday.

His solicitor George McCarley told the court his client was co-operative with police from the beginning.

“He acknowledges he has a drug issue with cannabis. He has a compressed disc in his back and uses cannabis to ease the pain but he realises he can’t continue to do that,” Mr McCarley said.
